Radio Show Notes – June 28th, 2016

Hammered these out on my phone quick after I was asked to come on this afternoon. Forgive the lack of links. I’ll update links, spelling, and other atrocities later.

KFH Radio 98.7 FM/1240AM, 5:25PM this afternoon.

Wichita Movie Scene Fun Facts:Wichita has the country’s largest digital IMAX theater at 6 stories tall and 100 feet wide, and is in the top-ten digital IMAXs in the world.

Finding Dory – Ed Oneill steals the show. You’ll know him as Al Bundy, Ty Burell, Ellen, obviously. Dee from. ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.’

It made this grown man cry.

Independence Day: Resurgence – I can fill this time for as long as you needed. Thoroughly enjoyed this and wrote 1,200 words on it. Can not WAIT for Independence Day 3.

Netflix – The Adam Sandler 6-movie deal. Ridiculous 6 and The Do-Over with David Spade up now, with more on the way.

Tarzan opening Friday. Was not convinced we needed a new Tarzan by the first synopsis and trailers, however, the last trailer has piqued my interest. Alexander Skarsgard, of True Blood fame, Christopher Waltz (Inglorious Basterds, Django), Samuel L. Jackson, Margot Robbie, who’s star just continues to climb.

The BFG – The Big Friendly Giant – originally a role Spielberg wanted Robin Williams to play, may he rest in peace. Roahld Dahl story, same author of ‘Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.’ Jermaine Clement from Flight of The Conchords & Bill Hader of SNL fame lend their voices to the antagonists. Take a kid, have fun. It’s from Disney and Amblin, who made a little film called ‘E.T.’ Back in the day, among other films we all love.

In Theaters

Central Intelligence – so good. So fun. Tropy, but exactly what you expect. A very fun, movie theater ticket-worthy buddy cop film with some great cameos and a ridiculous, fun finish. Brought some genuine laughs, which was appreciated.

On my radar:

Free State of Jones – Mr McConnaghey(sp)-led Civil War biopic based on a true story. Looks interesting, but critics are killing it.

The Shallows – Girl Versus Shark for 90 minutes. She’s gonna need a bigger surfboard. Probably wait for Netflix for this.
